Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 21, 2026
Family AI ("we," "us," or "our") provides AI agents that help families manage calendars, book appointments, and stay coordinated through email, phone calls, and SMS ("the Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to operate the Service on your behalf. The categories of information we may collect include:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, and a password you choose when you create an account.
- Family member information: names, contact details, and relationships you provide so the AI agent can coordinate your household.
- Calendar and scheduling data: existing calendar entries, appointments, reminders, and availability you connect or that the agent creates on your behalf.
- Communications content: the contents of emails you CC the agent on, phone calls placed to the agent's number, SMS messages you send or receive, and replies the agent drafts or sends for you.
- Usage and diagnostic data: logs, device identifiers, IP addresses, and interaction data that help us secure, debug, and improve the Service.
- Information from third-party integrations: data from connected calendar providers, email providers, and telephony/SMS carriers, accessed only with your authorization.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including booking appointments and sending reminders, replies, and updates on your behalf.
- Process and respond to voice calls, SMS, and emails directed to your AI agent.
- Create, modify, and synchronize calendar events according to your instructions.
- Authenticate you, secure your account, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Improve and develop the Service, including training and refining our AI models as described below.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. AI Processing of Communications
The Service is designed to read, summarize, and act on your communications — emails you CC the agent on, transcripts of calls to the agent's number, and SMS messages. Automated AI models process this content to draft replies, add events, and keep your family informed. Where legally required, we obtain consent before recording or transcribing calls, and we notify call participants that an AI assistant is involved.
You should not use the Service to send or receive communications that contain sensitive data you do not want processed by AI — including health information protected by HIPAA, financial account credentials, or government identification numbers — unless you have separately engaged an applicable covered-service arrangement with us.
4. Model Training and Data Retention
We do not sell your personal information. By default, your communications and calendar data are used to operate your account and are not used to train foundation models shared with other customers. We may use aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized usage data to improve the Service. You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to our records-retention obligations described in Section 7.
5. Sharing of Information
We share information only as necessary to provide the Service and as described here:
- Service providers: trusted third parties that host infrastructure, transmit calls and SMS, deliver email, and provide calendar APIs — under contractual obligations of confidentiality and security.
- AI sub-processors: providers of language and speech models that process your content to deliver the Service. A current list of sub-processors is available on request.
- Family members you invite: information you choose to share so the agent can coordinate your household.
- Legal compliance: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Family AI, our users, or others.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to advertisers or third parties for their promotional purposes.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards such as encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. Telephony and SMS are transmitted through carrier networks we do not fully control, so no method of electronic transmission or storage is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account closure, we retain communications and logs for a limited period to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, then delete or anonymize them. You may request earlier deletion of specific communications where legally permitted.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Withdraw consent to processing carried out on the basis of consent.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@familyai.example. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for adults who manage a household. Family members under 18 should be added only by a parent or legal guardian who authorizes the processing of that child's information. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without consent, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Call and SMS Disclosures
Calls to the agent's phone number may be recorded, transcribed, and processed by AI. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply for SMS. By contacting the agent's number, you consent to such processing and to receiving automated SMS replies. You may opt out of SMS by replying STOP at any time.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own that have different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect transfers of personal information.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and, where appropriate, by email or in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
